Jun 30, 2010

The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum’s lecture series continues this month with a fascinating look at hiking Apache trails in southwestern New Mexico.

At 7 p.m. on July 8, historian Jerry Eagan presents “Hiking Apacheria & New Mexico Ranches: Sites & Signs of the Apaches in Southwestern New Mexico.” Eagan, a retired civil servant and U.S. Army combat veteran of the Vietnam War, has hiked and studied various Apache trails and sites throughout the Southwest.

Eagan also writes a column for Desert Exposure on the subject of hiking in these areas. For more information, go to www.hikingapacheria.com or www.desertexposure.com/apacheria .
