SUMMARY:Culture Series: Living with Urban Wildlife in the Southwest
DESCRIPTION:“Living with Urban Wildlife in the Southwest” is the title of the October 12 Culture Series presentation at the Farm & Ranch Museum. \nThe free presentation\, hosted by the Friends of the Museum\, begins at 7 p.m. in the Museum’s Theater. \nColleen Payne\, Southwest Region public information specialist for the New Mexico Department of Game & Fish\, will be the presenter. She will discuss what wildlife species may be encountered around Las Cruces\, how to keep you\, your pets and wildlife safe\, and what the Department of Game & Fish does to support wildlife in the area. \nColleen Payne is a lifelong resident of New Mexico and has nearly 25 years of experience in the outdoors\, primarily hunting and fishing. After graduating from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in animal science\, she dedicated her career to wildlife conservation and education. Mentoring new hunters and educating the public on the positive impacts of hunting and fishing are her highlights of the job.
