DESCRIPTION:Friends of the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum (NMFRHM) Culture Series presents “The Art of Being Public: How Art Can Define Public Spaces” \nPresentation by Ceci Vasconcellos\, Public Art Coordinator\, City of Las Cruces Quality of Life/Public Art Program \n\nThursday\, Feb. 13\, 2025\n7 p.m.\, Museum Auditorium\nNew Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum\nFree Admission\n\nThe Friends of the NMFRHM invites you to a discussion with Ceci Vasconcellos\, Director of the Public Art Program for the City of Las Cruces/Quality of Life Department. Some 50 public artworks are found on City property\, including the much-loved water tank murals\, the iconic Recycled Roadrunner on I-10\, artworks in various media in City parks and facilities\, and many more murals and sculptures throughout the city. Vasconcellos has coordinated the city-mandated program since 2021. With a commitment of two percent of government obligation bonds funding public works projects\, the program commissions and acquires artwork by local\, regional and national artists.
