It’s that time of year again! Time to take advantage of our large outdoor campus and wonderful indoor facilities by attending one or more of our annual summer camps at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum!
Whether you enjoy animals, drawing, or outdoor fun, we have a camp for you. Discover nature, heritage cooking, painting, roping, wrangling, weaving, and many more exciting activities. Spend your summer with us and learn all about the different aspects of life here in New Mexico. Registration begins May 2.
Camps fill up quickly and pre-registration is required.
Tiny Tales
June 7, 8, and 9
9:30 AM to 11:30 AM (Ages 4-6)
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Each day, children will hear a themed story relating to farming or ranching. Participants will have the opportunity to make a craft that ties in to the story they hear. Adults are encouraged to attend with their child. Deadline to register is June 2.
Exploring the Wild Outdoors
June 14, 15, and 16
9 AM to 12:30 PM (Ages 8-12)
$35 for non-members, $30 for members
Children will learn all about nature and explore the outdoors at the Museum. Exploration will take place on hikes, through dissection, and discovery. Participants from previous nature camps are encouraged to attend to continue their journey. Deadline to register is June 9.

You Can Art Too
June 21, 22, and 23
9 AM to Noon (Ages 8-13)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Participants will draw, paint, and do beading work. Mediums include charcoal pencils and watercolor with class taking place indoors and outdoors. Deadline to register is June 16.
Ropin’ and Wranglin’
June 28, 29, and 30
10 AM to Noon (Ages 5 – 8)
$35 for non-members, $30 for members
Put on your boots and grab your rope! It’s time to hit the trail! Learn the cowboy way as you stamp leather, try your hand at a little ropin’, design your own bandana, ride a pony, and learn a bit of cowboy etiquette. Deadline to register is June 23.
Wild and Wooly Wonders
July 5, 6, and 7
10 AM to 1:30 PM (Ages 8-12)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Ever wonder how a sheep’s fleece is transformed into fabric? Join us for a fun-filled exploration of wool crafting. We’ll clean and card wool, and learn the basics of spinning and weaving. Students will take on the challenge of dyeing wool and will learn wet felting methods. Deadline to register is June 30.

Animal Critters
July 12, 13, and 14
10 AM to Noon (Ages 5-8)
$30 for non-members, $25 for members
Meet an animal guest each day and hear a story about each special guest. Animal guests include a lizard, rabbits, chickens, and chinchillas. Children will learn about the different kinds of animals and how to be a responsible pet owner. Deadline to register is July 7.
Preserving Life Through Photography
July 19, 20, and 21
10 AM to 1:00 PM (Ages 8-13)
$35 for non-members, $30 for members
Students will learn an introduction to photography and the camera through hands-on projects and photo shoots. It will be a fun and creative time! Deadline to register is July 14.

Outdoor Cooking
July 26, 27, and 28
9 AM to 11:30 AM (Ages 8-12)
$40 for non-members, $35 for members
Bring your appetite! Children will use the Museum’s Horno to make pizza and try their hand at Dutch Oven cooking. Beans and rice, eggs on a stick, and cornbread are just some of the foods that will be cooked. Deadline to register is July 21.
Pre-registration required in person and a non-refundable deposit of $5 is required for each class.
