Family Fun

The Museum is the perfect place for a family outing featuring interactive exhibits, play areas and animals galore!

Pony Rides

Put your child in the saddle and let ‘em ride! This incomparable experience allows children to get close to a large animal and pretend to be a cowpoke. They’ll learn how to sit on a saddle as they hold on to the horn atop their favorite pony. Pony rides are $5 per child and are available Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12pm if weather permits.

The Adventure Corral

The Museum’s unique play room is a favorite stop for young visitors. They can climb into the hay loft, pretend to plant crops, ride a toy tractor or just sit quietly and read a book. This room is sometimes closed for special events when other children’s activities are offered.

The Adventure Corral is reserved specifically for children within the age of 2-10, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for your child to explore, play, and make new friends. See you at the Adventure Corral!

Children's Interactives

Throughout the Museum’s galleries, many exhibits provide children the opportunity to explore, play games and get hands-on with various objects. Interactive stations include corn grinding, Spanish colonial trade, and dairy interactives.

Discovery Garden and the South 20 Playground

Featuring a sandbox, swing set, picnic tables and wagons, the Discovery Garden will entertain your child for hours. Relax under the portal as they dig, swing and slide.

The South 20 playground, situated just across the bridge, features a wagon shaped play set and bouncy horses.

All Aboard the Ag Wagon

The Museum’s educational program – All Aboard the Ag Wagon – takes place each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This program for children is included with regular Museum admission. Adults are invited, too.

Each Saturday, attendees will learn about a different topic and usually do a craft. Some of the topics so far have included bees, gardening, dairy and beef cattle, and windmills.

The Dairy Spot

The Dairy Spot: Discovery Center is a fun, colorful venue for families to learn about dairy products and the industry in New Mexico.

With child-friendly interactive exhibits, this newly renovated space has a brighter, livelier look that includes a multi-use public space that can be used for everything from demonstrations to children’s birthday parties.
