Culture Series: Lescombes Family Vineyard
November 16, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Friends of the Farm and Ranch Museum’s Culture Series presentation this month is on The Art of the Vineyard in the Mesilla Valley: The Lescombes Family Vineyards. The presentation is in the Museum Theater at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 16. Our speaker is Emmanuel Lescombes. Admission is free.
It is documented that the Mesilla Valley region was the first in the United States to actively cultivate grapes for winemaking in 1629. The Lescombes Family Vineyards has been producing wine in the Mesilla Valley since the1980s. Before expanding their art to New Mexico, the Lescombes family produced wine in Algeria and Burgundy. This presentation is planned to be a fun and informative sharing of stories about this multigenerational family and its contributions to vineyard and wine development in the Mesilla Valley. It is planned in conjunction with the museum’s annual HomeGrown: A New Mexico Food Show & Gift Market on November 18-19.
