The mission of the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum Board is to provide leadership to the Museum to preserve, collect, study, and display materials representative of the farming and ranching of the state and region and to develop and maintain exhibits and programs of an educational nature.

  • The Commission may enter closed session, pursuant to NMSA 1978, Section 10-15-1(H) of the Open Meetings Act. The closure shall be approved by a majority vote of a quorum of the Commission; the authority for the closure and the subject to be discussed shall be stated with reasonable specificity in the motion calling for the vote on a closed session; the vote shall be taken in an open meeting; and the vote of each individual member shall be recorded in the minutes. Closed session is limited to only those matters identified in the motion by the Commission.

     

  • Except for emergency matters, the Board cannot take action on new business that is not on the posted agenda. New business requiring action will be added to the agenda for the next meeting of the Board.

  • Squaw Dress made by Elsie Britt in the early 1950s; Opera bags belonging to Carmen Freudenthal
  • American Beauty soldering iron with stand and solder, ca. 1930; Hand drill auger called a “Brace” Stanley Pat 1880524 and Pat 1915245 (stamped on the chuck); Drill Bits made by Russell Jennings set of twist drill in oak box 1892. Used in Montana.
  • Awards given to Robert Shufelt (15 plaques, 1 trophy, 3 framed pieces)
  • WearEver aluminum double fry pan, used in New Mexico in the early 20th century

  • Vintage clothing with no clear connection to New Mexico
  • Story & Clark pump organ ca.1890 found and repaired in Michigan by the owner’s father
  • Collection of early 20th century tools used in Montana that duplicated pieces already in the Museum’s collection
  • Quilt made by a prominent local quilter on a New England farm theme
  • Mystery cast iron object from a farm in Iowa
  • Tarahumara ladder – lost contact with owner, no longer available
  • Oliver 80 Row Crop Tractor – owner changed his mind and is donating it instead to a new local museum
