Created in 1978 by the New Mexico Legislature, the Department of Cultural Affairs represents New Mexico’s dedication to preserving and celebrating the cultural integrity and diversity of our state. National History Day
Join secondary classrooms from throughout southern New Mexico as they do historical research and compete at regional, state and national contests for prizes and scholarships. This is a collaborative effort between the Museum, the New Mexico Humanities Council, and the New Mexico State University History Department and Library. www.nhd.org
Visit Las Cruces
Museum staff works Visit Las Cruces, the tourism ambassador program from the City of Las Cruces, to promote the area as a destination for tour groups and visitors from all over the world. NMSU Cooperative Extension Service
Over 1,000 local 4th graders visit the Museum for AgXplorer, an event which exposes students to many different aspects of agriculture. The Museum often hosts the event and provides assistance to the NMSU Cooperative Extension Service staff and volunteers.
