Fiber Arts
The production of fabrics and clothing from raw materials has always required incredible craftsmanship and patience. Sewing, spinning, weaving, and embroidery are among the traditional handcrafts you will see produced at NM Farm.
Chair Caning : Mondays, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Wool spinning, Weaving (1-3 p.m.): Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Sewing and Weaving : Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Wool spinning and Quilting: Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Quilting and Blacksmithing: Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Blacksmithing: Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Blacksmithing
The blacksmith is typically open on Friday and Saturday from 10am to noon. However, it is always a good idea to call the museum to confirm the current schedule before visiting. This will ensure that you have the most up-to-date information about the blacksmith demonstration hours.

See all of the extraordinary beef cattle breeds that reside at the Museum through this spectacular New Mexico historical demonstration. Learn how cattle breeds have affected New Mexico agriculture as our livestock staff brings each breed into the Round Pen for visitors to see. You won’t want to miss this special presentation!

Traditional Crafts
Woodworking and leatherworking have been passed down through generations of New Mexicans. We’re honored to have these artisans work at NM Farm to create unique, handcrafted items that are sure to impress.
