For three years, the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum has displayed its popular exhibit, Wheels & Gears. Now, the museum will have an annual show to go along with it.
The first Wheels & Gears Show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 8. Discounted admission is $5 per carload.
The show features cars, trucks, off-road vehicles, and antique tractors from New Mexico Vintage Iron. A People’s Choice award will be given as local car clubs will have some of their vintage vehicles on display.
A professional BMX stunt show is also part of the fun. StuntMasters from Phoenix will perform their BMX Impact Street Show at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Riders will perform amazing stunts on the ground and in the air, including 360s, tailwhips, backflips and more.
The Wheels & Gears exhibit inside the main building includes a variety of vehicles, carts, wagons, and buggies from different eras, as well as a New Mexico license plate collection.
New Mexico Vintage Iron will offer tractor barrel rides for kids ($3) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there will be pony rides for kids ($5) from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department also will offer games, including a Ninja course.
Admission for this event is only $5 per carload.
Food vendors will be here, as well as all of the regular museum offerings. The show is part of the city’s Monuments to Main Street program. For more information, please call (575) 522-4100.
